Licensing Program Analysts Arminder Singh and Caroline Colson met with, Michelle Carnahan center director, for an unannounced random annual inspection at 9:00 AM. There is one classroom for the entire program. C1 and C2 had complete children's files. P1-P5 have complete files with all current immunization records. There are no additional records for review. Present in the facility were 21 preschool children with 2 staff members including the director and 6 parents. Sign-in and sign-out sheets were reviewed to verify census and signatures. The facility is in good repair. CLASSROOMS: The entire center was inspected. There are adequate play and learning materials available. Furniture and equipment is age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside the center. There is a working telephone on site. There is proper individual storage space for each child. There are separate bathrooms for staff. The isolation area for sick children is located in the reading area of the classroom. The isolation bathroom is the staff bathroom. BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: Toilets and faucets work properly. The children are able to reach the sink. Toilet paper, soap, and paper towels are all available to the children. Adequate lighting is provided in both bathrooms. The facility has cold water and warm available to the children. INSPECTION OF FOOD SERVICE AREA: The facility provides only a snack for the children and the children bring their own lunch. Food was inspected for freshness and quantity. INSPECTION OF OUTDOOR PLAY AREA: There are age appropriate toys and materials for the children. HEALTH RELATED SERVICES: Center Director states that there are medications stored at the center with proper instructions to administer the medications with proper labels. Earthquake/ disaster drills are conducted every month. The first aid kit is complete and available.

RECORDS: Staff members and children's files were reviewed. Required forms were posted in an public accessible area. CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expire on 08/21/2021. There are no bodies of water accessible to children. There are no firearms on the premises. Children are being visually supervised. All storage areas for poisons are locked. Mandated Reporting. The website is www.mandatedreporterca.com.

This facility is providing Incidental Medical Services-IMS at this time. LPAs discussed IMS services and the requirement to update the plan of operation. Specifics on the plan can be found in the child care center evaluator manual (CCC EM) Policy 101173.

The childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov is the email address for the applicant to sign up to receive PINS.

Licensee was asked to go to our website at www.ccld.ca.gov to ensure that she is informed of all new laws and regulations.

There were no deficiencies cited during this inspection.
