On 01/09/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton made an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required one year annual visit. LPA Newton was met by Director Abigail Pletcher. There are 12 preschool age children present today, there are 2 staff and 3 co-op parents present. Generally there is a teacher inside and one outside with the co-op parents supplementing the supervision. The program operates from 8:30 to 2:00pm. Children do not nap here.
The classroom and yard was toured. The program operates in one large room which has an open flow and many different learning centers. All items for use by children are in good condition. All disinfectants, cleaning products and items which might be hazardous are inaccessible to children and kept in the kitchen. The outside yard is also large and has playground equipment which is all in safe condition. There is sufficient resilient material underneath the high climbing structure. Outside, the facility has a chicken coop and a garden. The children's bathroom has two toilets and two sinks. There is another toilet and sink for staff located at the end of kitchen. There is sufficient soap, paper towels and toilet paper to meet children's and adult's needs. The kitchen was inspected. There is a refrigerator in which some snacks are kept and cabinets for other art supplies. The kitchen is clean and free of hazards. Drinking water is available outside and inside. In the classroom there is a terrarium with a non-poisonous snake. Additionally there are some small gold fish in an aquarium. Sign in/out was reviewed and found accurate for children present.
The facility has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The last fire drill was conducted 12/02/2019. CPR and First Aid is current for staff on site and expires 02/23/21.

Licensee is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, frequent visitors, or adults that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS for epinephrine injections. LPA Newton reviewed the storage of medication and equipment which was found in compliance.

A personnel roster and child care roster was obtained.

No deficiencies observed at this visit. A Notice of Site visit was given and facility was reminded that it is required to be posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted, appeal rights provided, and a copy of this report was left with Director Abigail Pletcher.
