On 10/18/2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arminder Singh met with Licensee, Gloria Lyons and explained the purpose of today's visit. There are 5 child present today. Children were engaged in various activities when LPA arrived. LPA reviewed record of two (2) children today (C1-C2). Children's file included Licensing documents per regulation. The home was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. The Licensee's hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-6:00PM. Licensee has a working telephone in the home.

The home is a two story home. The second story of the home has one bedroom, one bathroom, living room, and kitchen. The first story has one bedroom, one bathroom, children's dining room, and living room (play area). The children have an outdoor play area as well.

ON LIMIT AREAS are the entire first floor oh home.

OFF LIMIT AREA is the entire second floor which will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.

ISOLATION AREA is the bedroom located on first floor.

Outdoor play area: is on limits and has a padded surface. Licensee understands 100% visual supervision is required.

The home is sanitary, safe and orderly, with central heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA observed required Postings on the wall. LPA observed: fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Medicines, cleaning products, sharp objects are stored inaccessible to children in cabinets and out of reach of children. LPA reminded Licensee that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers and similar items are not allowed in family child care homes. Licensee does not have any firearms at facility. Licensee does have a pet turtle in the home.

The Licensee has current CPR and First Aid certification.(Expires on 08/2024) LPA reminded Licensee that the mandated reporter training certificates are to be renewed every two years. (Expires 02/2024). Licensee was reminded that fire/disaster drills are to be conducted every six months. Last drill was conducted on 08/04/2022.


Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensees of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

There were no deficiencies in today's visit.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
