25 | On January 30, 2020 at approximately 9:30am, License Program Managers (LPAs) Russ Haderer and Paul Petersen arrived to the facility unannounced to conduct a required 1 year inspection. LPAs met with the new director, Janine Sagherian. She replaced the previous director in March 2019. Present at today's visit were 20 staff members and 119 preschool children and 7 toddlers present. All ratios were correct.
There are 8 classrooms for preschool age children and 1 classroom for toddlers. There are two adjoining play areas for the preschool age (separated by a fence) and one dedicated play area for toddlers accessed through their classroom. All play equipment is in safe condition and free from sharp, loose or pointed parts and the areas around or under high climbing equipment has appropriate cushioned material that absorbs a fall. Shade was available in all play areas. Teachers are present in play areas and stationed by all unlocked gates to the outside (toddlers play area).
There facility is clean and well organized with age appropriate furnishings and equipment in good repair. Surfaces including floors and counter tops are free of hazards and toxins. There were no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to children in care today. There are fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers and working carbon monoxide and fire detectors in every classroom. Pull-down fire alarms are present. All required posted documents were present. Disaster drills are conducted monthly and were up to date as of January 23, 2020. All toilets, hand washing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Hot water temp was measured at 119 degrees. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting cover on. All surfaces accessible to children are clean and toxic free. The sign in/out sheets was reviewed and the children are signed in. The snack / lunch menu is posted and visible for review. |
