25 | On 6/12/20, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dyson conducted a case management tele-inspection thru the Facetime application. A tele-inspection was done due to COVID-19. LPA met with Quera Owens, Child Development Manager. There were no children present. The center was temporarily operating at 1070 41st Street Emeryville, CA 94608, while the roof at this location was being repaired. Ms. Owens submitted a request to relocate back to this site since the repairs have been completed. She advised that they plan to begin operation on 6/15/20. The preschool component is one component of this combination center, which also has an infant component, and operates in 4 classrooms and 1 playground 7:30am-6pm, Monday thru Friday.
Ms. Owens stated that there were no changes that affected the square footage of the classrooms or playground, and the same measurements determined on 11/17/17 will be used.
The classrooms, bathrooms and playground were toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. LPA observed that the classrooms were set up to allow for social distancing. LPA observed the required postings in each classroom, as well as postings regarding hand washing and health tips related to COVID-19, LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate toys, equipment and furniture. LPA did not observe any hazardous items, toxins or bodies of water that would be accessible to children.
An approved fire clearance, from Alameda County Fire Prevention, was received on 6/5/20. All fire safety equipment was verified during the fire inspection.
This report will remain on file for 3 years. There are no deficiencies being cited. An electronic signature will not be obtained from the licensee, but the report will be mailed to the licensee for signature. |
