13 | Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mayla Mendoza and Regional Manager (RM) Diane Perez met today 12/14/21 with Director Leslie Hites for a complaint investigation regarding the above allegation of Conduct Inimical.
Based on information obtained by our Investigation Bureau, Scott Long was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for accessing child pornography with intent to view. Long pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison and 8 years of supervised release after his release from prison. Interviews were conducted with staff, students and parents did not reveal any indication that inappropriate actions took place between Long and the students at Renaissance International School. An interview with the FBI revealed no inappropriate actions happened at the Renaissance International School and all actions took place at Long's home on his home computer.
Based on Investigator's interviews and record review(s), the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation(s) is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, (Title 22, Division & Chapter number). But due to there being no impact on the facility, and no children were at risk, there will be no citation.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Leslie Hites.
