On 02/12/2020 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton made an unannounced required inspection at the above facility. LPA was met by director Akimasa Moore. Present for the inspection was 11 children and 3 staff members. The entire facility was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection.

The facility operates in the north yard and children use the church hall on the corner of Cedar and Bonita for indoor activities when weather is outside permutable. The facility provides snacks for children. LPA inspected food for quantity and freshness and found it in compliance. The menu is posted. LPA observed sufficient toys and equipment for children in care. The toys and equipment for the school age children are developmentally appropriate and in good condition. There are two bathrooms located in the church hall each one has one toilet and a sink. The children also use the adult bathrooms in the preschool. Children's bathrooms were inspected and they contain sufficient toilet paper, paper towels and soap to meet children's needs. Isolation area for sick children is the director’s office. Required forms are posted. Playground was inspected for hazards and found free of any. A first aid kit and emergency equipment for a disaster was available. A fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher is available on site. CPR and first aid is current for staff on site, expiring 08/2021. LPA reviewed children and staff files which were found in compliance.

Individual Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Currently, the facility has children in care requiring the administration of epinephrine injections. LPA reviewed the storage of medicine and found it in compliance. The facility has a plan of IMS on file, LPA discussed the need for individualized plans to be created for the children. Licensee is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, frequent visitors, or adults living in the home, that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter and the requirement to complete the training every 2 years.

A personnel report and child care roster was obtained.

No deficiencies observed at this visit. A Notice of Site visit was given and facility was reminded that it is required to be posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted, appeal rights provided, and a copy of this report was left with Director Akimasa Moore.
