25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton arrived at 11:15 A.M. and met with Center Director Yelena Zakharyevich for the purpose of an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL RANDOM INSPECTION. Present for this inspection was 3 staff members and 2 student assistants with 12 preschoolers. The facility was toured by LPA at 11:45 A.M. to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection.
There are ample age appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. There are no bodies of water accessible to children in care. The furniture and equipment is in safe condition and is free from sharp, loose or pointed parts. All hazardous materials and toxins are kept out of the reach of children and it was observed that there are no toxins or hazardous items accessible today. All toilets, hand washing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The changing tables have a padded surface and are covered. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting cover on. All surfaces accessible to children are clean and toxic free. The last fire drill was conducted 10/17/19. There are two 2A10BC fire extinguishers on site. The sign in/out binder was reviewed and the children are signed in. Meals are provided by the Child and Adult Care Program and is delivered daily. Menu is posted and visible for review. The playground equipment is in safe condition and free from sharp, loose or pointed parts and the areas around or under high climbing equipment has appropriate cushioned material that absorbs a fall. Drinking water is provided both indoors and outdoors. All staff subjected to criminal review have been cleared and associated to the facility. At 1:00 P.M., LPA requested the staff and children files. At 1:30 P.M., LPA reviewed children's and staff files which were found in compliance. CPR and First Aid is current for staff on site. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed, currently, no children are on medication. A child care roster and a personnel roster was obtained.
There are no deficiencies cited today. A Notice of site visit was provided at the time of the inspection and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to keep this notice posted for the 30 consecutive days will result in an immediate $100 civil penalty. Exit interview conducted, appeal rights provided, and a copy of this report was left with the Director Yelena Zakharyevich.
Director is reminded that ALL staff members, volunteers or frequent visitors that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident.
