On 01/28/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton made an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required annual inspection. LPA was met by Licensee Kimiko Gillies, assistant R. Roach, and assistant G. Mori. Present for this visit was 10 preschool age children with 2 assistants and the licensee.
The home was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection.

The home is a split level home, which is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The on limit areas are the front living room, dining room, family room, one bedroom on first level, bathroom, and kitchen. The off limit areas are made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The isolation area is the book corner. The outdoor play area is fenced and free from defects or dangerous conditions. There are ample age appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. Additionally there is a garden in the backyard. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water. LPA did not observe any toxins or hazardous items accessible today. LPA observed napping equipment and consulted with licensee about the importance of ensuring the sheets are not touching to ensure cross contamination won't happen. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, telephone, and fully stocked First supplies. The licensee states they have not gotten to conduct a fire drill since 01/2019. LPA consulted and stated the importance of ensuring they are conducting them. CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expires 10/20/21. The fireplace is screened to prevent access by children. Per licensee, there are no firearms in the home. All required forms are posted and visible for public review. LPA reviewed children files which were found in compliance. The licensee participates in a food program. LPA reviewed the food storage which was found in compliance.
