32 | At 9:30am, LPA toured the kitchen/food preparation area. The area was found to be free of litter, garbage, and evidence of rodents or other vermin during this inspection. Food is protected from contamination and, per staff, contaminated food is discarded immediately. Food/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are properly stored. Solid waste storage vessels (garbage cans) have tight fitting covers. Uncontaminated drinking water is available to children inside facility. Per Director, food is prepared off site at Kindango administrative office and delivered to the preschool. Per Director, only snack food is prepared at Kidango-Decoto (013415231).
The facility has two fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers (one in each room) and a working telephone. Fire alarm/smoke detector is configured to call the fire department. Per Director, fire alarm/smoke detector is serviced regularly. At least one staff member has current CPR/1st Aid certificate. The facility is in ratio today, with one teacher supervising no more than 12 children. Six children's files and four staff files were reviewed for proper documentation. All required forms are posted in public view, including menus. LPA reviewed sign in/sign out logs for both classrooms and LPA observed twenty signatures out of twenty children present in the facility during today's inspection. Facility roster was obtained.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility provides IMS to children in care. Facility is following IMS plan on file. When any changes to the IMS plan is made, an updated Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, frequent visitors, or adults present in the facility that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. |
