LPA met with Director Yvonne Ma. Also present at the time of this inspection were 9 fingerprint cleared staff and 32 infants. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. This program current operates Monday to Friday 7:00AM - 6:00PM. The center also has a preschool component #013415906. LPA toured four classrooms and observed age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and individual storage for children’s belongings. LPA observed the cleanliness of floors and surfaces. The center has a maintenance person who checks smoke detectors, carbon monoxides, working telephone, and 2A10BC fire extinguishers throughout the building every month. The changing tables are within arm’s reach of the sink. The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water. During today's inspection all cleaning supplies and toxins are stored inaccessible to children. The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and PM snack to children. The children bring their own water bottles that are filled as needed throughout the day. The facility posts the menu a month in advanced. Parents can view the menu on their phone through the Kindercare app. The facility also posts a physical copy of the menu in the hallway near the kitchen. LPA observed all bottles are labeled with expiration date in the fridge. Facility is in compliance with sleep log requirement as staff is continuing to perform 15 minutes checks during nap time. Bedding and blankets are cleaned and washed daily as the facility has a laundry room. Continued on 809-C

At 11:00AM five children's files and nine staff files were reviewed. All children's files were complete. LPA observed several staff files that were not complete. LPA observed 3 out of 10 staff had expired mandated reporter certificates and 3 out of 10 were missing the health screening (LIC503). There is at least one staff member with valid CPR and first aid on the premises. LPA observed all required documents are posted for public view. The facility completes disaster drills at least every six months. The last drill was conducted 10/18/2023. A copy of the facility personnel roster and children’s roster were available for review and copy was obtained.

There was one deficiency cited on today's visit. See 809-D for deficiency.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).

LPA referred facility representative to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
