32 | Disaster drills are conducted every month. Due to Covid, the center was closed until two weeks ago. A disaster drill is planned for week of 9/27 and one will be done every 6 months.
The sign in/out sheets were reviewed. Classrooms have trash cans with tight fitting cover for the disposal of solid waste. The facility has two children that require incidental medication (EpiPen’s). Medications are stored in a cabinet in the off-limits kitchen. Medications were checked and all are current, nothing expired.
Children's records were reviewed: There was no official roster, LPA provided site director with a blank copy to fill out. All files selected were reviewed and some were missing documents. Since school just opened, a technical assistance was issued.
Staff files were reviewed. All staff subjected to criminal review have been cleared and associated to the facility. All files were reviewed, there were some missing documents, a technical assistance was issued.
All documents required to be posted were appropriately posted on the walls: License; Emergency Disaster Plan; Earthquake Preparedness checklist; Notification of Parents Rights; Personal rights; Child seatbelt laws; daily activity schedules. There are no waivers for this facility.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Site Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
