25 | An unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst L. Dyer. LPA arrived at the facility at 8:40 a.m. The licensee was present with 11 day care children (9 preschool-age and 2 infants) and 2 fingerprint cleared assistants. Facility is in compliance with licensed capacity and facility ratios. All adults meet criminal background clearance requirements. Phone number and e-mail address are current. Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
At 9:00 a.m., the following was observed: the day care area of the home was inspected. Areas licensed for child care: entry room, day care room and bathroom. The rest of the home is off limits Off-limit areas will be made inaccessible to children by closed and/or locked doors; gates; and visual supervision. The home was clean and orderly, with adequate heating and ventilation. There were safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment available to children at the time of this inspection. There were a variety of books and toys for children's use. There was a working smoke detector (tested); a fully charged 3-A:40-B:C fire extinguisher; a first aid kit, and a carbon monoxide detector. Licensee has a non-functioning indoor grill that is used to store toys. There are no hazardous materials, medicines, or cleaning solutions accessible to children during this inspection. Licensee stated there were no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Back yard area is securely fenced. Licensee has riding toys, a playhouse, balls, a child size table and other outdoor toys for child play.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee currently has no infants in care and does not enroll infants, but Infant Sleeping Plans and Infant regulations were discussed. (continued) |
