25 | On 9/14/2020 at 2:00PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji conducted a technical assistance TELEVIST inspection at Quarry Lane School, The located at 4444 Black Avenue, Pleasanton, CA 94566. The inspection was a virtual inspection, conducted via ZOOM due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LPA met with Director, Katie Warren. Quarry Lane School, The submitted a waiver request to temporarily provide child care to school aged children (K through 12th Grade), and the waiver request is under review by the Child Care Licensing Program office. LPA was advised that they would like to care for up to 14 school aged children. Facility will stay under their licensed capacity of 180 children total between the temporary school aged program and licensed preschool program. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
An inspection of all indoor and outdoor areas of the facility to be used by children was completed to conduct a health and safety inspection. LPA was advised that Kid Zone classroom will be used for the school aged children's distance learning and the children will not commingle with the preschool aged children. Check-in will take place at entrance of the building utilizing a touchscreen device and sanitized pens. If child/ren become ill during the course of the day, they will be placed in the isolation area (Staff Office). Children have access to 6 toilets, 2 urinals and 5 sinks. LPA observed that the Kid Zone room appeared to be safe and have enough space for up to 14 children as requested. LPA did not observe any hazardous items or bodies of water that would be accessible to children. The outdoor spaces have sufficient shade and children will be supervised at all times. Children will bring their own food from home and AM/PM snacks will be provided by the facility. LPA advised the facility that the unique waiver needs to be approved prior to operation of the child care, and that additional items may be requested.
