On 9/22/2020 at 2:30PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji conducted a technical assistance TELEVIST inspection at Peace Terrace Academy located at 33330 Peace Terrace, Fremont, CA 94555. The inspection was a virtual inspection, conducted on the ZOOM application due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LPA met with Director, Roohi Qadir. Peace Terrace Academy submitted a waiver request to temporarily increase capacity from 29 to 53 preschool aged children. Additionally, the facility requested to temporarily add two additional classrooms (Building B - two classrooms), and the waiver request is under review by the Child Care Licensing Program office. LPA was advised that they would have no more than 11 children in a cohort. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 2:00PM.

An inspection of all indoor and outdoor areas of the facility to be used by children was completed to conduct a health and safety inspection. LPA was advised that areas will be exclusively used by children and members of the public will not have access to space utilized by children.

Check-in will take place at entrance of each classroom. If child/ren become ill during the course of the day, they will be placed in the isolation area (administrator room). Children utilizing these new temporary rooms have access to 4 toilets, and 5 sinks.

LPA observed that all rooms appeared to be safe and have enough space for up to 11 children per room as requested. LPA did not observe any hazardous items or bodies of water that would be accessible to children. The outdoor spaces have sufficient shade and children will be supervised at all times. Children will bring their own food from home. LPA advised the facility that the unique waiver needs to be approved prior to operation of the child care, and that additional items may be requested. Exit interview conducted.
