25 | On 4/7/23, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Melissa Domantay met with Head of School Abigail Luna for a Required 1 Year inspection. The facility preschool center and playground were toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Present during today's inspection was Head of School, Abigail Luna and 3 staff. There were 17 preschool children present during today's inspection. All adults present today are fingerprint cleared and associated. The center operates Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
LPA toured the premises with Head of School Abigail. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to the health and safety of children were stored in places inaccessible to them. Furniture and equipment were age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.There are 3 toilets and 3 sinks available for preschool children's use. Restrooms for children were observed to be in safe, sanitary, and functioning condition. Floors were clean and free from tripping hazard. Food storage area were clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. Trash cans for solid waste had tight-fitting covers and were in good repair. LPA observed a fully charged Fire extinguisher and Carbon Monoxide Detector. The last Fire Drill was conducted on 3/14/2023. Head of School Abigail is reminded that fire drills should be conducted at least every 6 months. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid Kit and working telephone. Facility does not provide transportation for preschool children, but Head of School Abigail understands that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles.
Outdoor playground was inspected and observed to be fenced and safe. The play equipment was maintained in good condition and free of hazards. Areas around the outdoor play yard are cushioned with material that absorbs falls. Shade is provided by way of covered areas. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection.
Facility’s License, Parents’ Rights Poster PUB 393, Personal Rights, and Activity Schedules were observed to be posted. The open area by staff bathroom will be used for the isolation of sick children. See 809-C for continuance.
