Licensing Program Analyst Caroline Colson met with Erica Castro, Summer Camp Director, for a random annual inspection at 9:00 AM. Jennifer Galloso, center director, arrived during the inspection. A complete inspection of the facility was conducted. There are 2 classrooms for the entire program. Present in the facility were 20 children and 5 staff members including the camp director. Two children's records were reviewed by the LPA and the licensee on 7/12/19 at 11:13 AM. C1 and C2 have immunization records on the California School Immunization Form. Sign-in and sign-out sheets were reviewed to verify census and signatures. The facility is in good repair. CLASSROOMS: The entire center was inspected. There are adequate play and learning materials available. Furniture and equipment is age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside the center. There are working telephones on site. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The children do take naps at this facility. There are separate bathrooms for staff and children. The isolation area for sick children is the office. The isolation bathroom is the staff bathroom located near the office. BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: Toilets and faucets work properly. The children are able to reach the sinks and toilets. Toilet paper, soap, and paper towels are all available to the children. Adequate lighting is provided in all bathrooms. The school has cold and hot water available to the children. INSPECTION OF FOOD SERVICE AREA: The school provides two snacks a day. Food was inspected for freshness and quantity. INSPECTION OF OUTDOOR PLAY AREA: There are age appropriate toys and materials for the children. There is 1 large play structure, bicycles and many other play equipment available for use. HEALTH RELATED SERVICES: Camp Director states that there are medications stored at the center. Earthquake emergency items are available inside of each classroom. The first aid kit is complete and available.

On or before March 30, 2018, a person who, on January 1, 2018, is a licensed child care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter training provided pursuant to paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a), and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training.

Personnel Requirements
At least one staff member who is trained in pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866 shall be onsite at all times when children are present.

Licensee will contact the facility to obtain the EMSA approved stickers or register for a Pediatric CPR and First Aid course. She will send a copy of the registration to Oakland CCL.

RECORDS: Required forms were posted in an public accessible area.

LPA discussed with the director about updating the facility file with the new board members, applicant/licensee and board resolution. Once the boards convenes, the board will send the board resolution to update the facility file.

This facility is not providing Incidental Medical Services-IMS at this time. LPA discussed IMS services and the requirement to update the plan of operation. Specifics on the plan can be found in the child care center evaluator manual (CCC EM) Policy 101173.
REMINDERS/RESOURCES
· Criminal Background Clearance: All assistants, volunteers, frequent adult visitors (adults are individuals 18 years of age or older) must be fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility prior to be in the presence of children in care. Failure to comply, requires an immediate civil penalty of $100 to $3000 per person, per incident.

(a) (1) Commencing September 1, 2016, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a day care center if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Each employee and volunteer shall receive an influenza vaccination between August 1 and December 1 of each year.
