25 | On 08/16/21 at 7:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay. met with Licensee, Malyka Chop. The licensee has submitted an application for a capacity change and room change. The center will operate 7:00 AM - 6:00PM. What used to be the infant room, is now the preschool room. The preschool room is now the infant room. Per licensee, there will be no crib-age infants, therefore, there will be no cribs being itilized. There are no changes to the other classrooms, bathrooms and outdoor play yards that were previously licensed. LPA toured the rooms that were changed to conduct a health and safety inspection, and completed the following measurements: A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside and the measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 140.07 sq ft = 4 children
OUTDOORS: 5776.188 sq ft = 77 children (from 10/17/13 report)
All other indoor and outdoor measurements remain the same. A fire clearance was received from the Alameda City Fire Department on 07/28/21.
LPAs observed that there is sufficient heating, lighting and ventilation in the classrooms, and the classroom floors and surfaces are clean and free of hazards. The rooms have an ample supply of age appropriate furniture, toys and equipment which appear to be in good condition. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water, hazardous items or toxins that would be accessible to children. LPAs observed operating sinks and covered waste cans. The rooms are equipped with fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors and centralized smoke detection systems. The facility has a working telephone and first aid supplies.
