25 | On August 11, 2022 at 9:19am , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Director Ernie Mahr and Assistant Director Sakiko Takagi for an Unannounced Required Annual Inspection. There were no children present during today's visit. The center was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
The facility operates in five classrooms in a two story building where there is also a private elementary school on site. There are four classrooms on the first floor, two of the classrooms are for Toddlers aged 18 months to 30 months; and the other two classes are for children aged 31 months to 6 years old.CLASSROOMS: The classrooms were inspected and there were play and learning materials available for the children. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. The isolation area for sick children is in the small office next to the stairs on the first floor and away from other children in care. The center has a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, pull down fire alarm system, and one fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, as well as an industrial sized fire extinguisher in the kitchen. FOOD SERVICE AREAS: This facility provides lunch and snacks for the children. There are weekly menus posted at the entrance. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair. OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: The playground has shade over the play structure to keep children cool. The play structure is anchored to the ground and also has cushioning to absorb falls.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: This facility has separate bathrooms for the children and the staff. All sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children can reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children.
