25 | On April 13, 2023 at approximately 10:15am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Haderer arrived unannounced for a 1-Year Required annual inspection. Present in the home today was the licensee's adult son Manu Dhingra and his adolescent son. The licensee was not home and there were no children in care.
Mr Manu Dhingra stated that the family had opened a local restaurant approximately 4 months back and his mother had closed the child care facility at that time. The licensee Prem Dhingra and her husband were currently at the restaurant and not at home.
Manu Dhingra invited LPA Haderer into the home to verify there were no children in care. LPA observed that the childcare area of the home was now full of restaurant supplies and other equipment in boxes. LPA Haderer collected the license and on behalf of the licensee as her agent had Manu sign the back of the document attesting the child care was closed and no longer providing child care. Mr. Manu Dhingra signed and dated the back of the document and surrendered it to LPA Haderer.
Manu and LPA Haderer then continued a previous discussion they had one year ago regarding the CARE tool and how Mr. Manu Dhingra might submit a proposal for developing a new software program to upgrade and enhance the performance of the tool, getting away from the current Excel based program.
LPA stated he would send a follow up letter confirming the permanent closure. He will also include guidance on reopening should the licensee Prem Dhingra decide to reopen a family child care home in the future.
LPA left the facility at 11:15am |
