25 | On 2/27/2020 at 1:30PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Junell Chen and Julia Placencia met with Center Director Tyesha Maryland for an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL/RANDOM INSPECTION. This daycare center is located within church grounds. The program runs out of a building adjacent to the main building of church. LPAs toured the facility for a Health and Safety Inspection around 1:30 PM. Present during the inspection were 9 children and 1 staff member in addition to Director. This preschool program operates Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM.
There are three (3) classrooms and one (1) bathroom being utilized at the center. The facility is in good repair.
CLASSROOMS: Each individual classroom was inspected. There are adequate play and learning materials available. Classroom furniture and equipment is age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There are working telephones on site. There are individual storage spaces for each child's belongings. Napping materials and equipment are properly labeled and stored appropriately. There are separate bathrooms for staff and children. There exists a carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, fully charged fire extinguisher, and pull down alarm devices at the facility. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible during the visit. First Aid kits are in a reachable compartment of each of the classrooms readily available. There are no bodies of water accessible to children being observed during the inspection. Per Director, there are no firearms on the premises. Children are being visually supervised during time of inspection. All storage areas for poisons are locked.
