On 4/30/21 at 10am, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Loretta Dyson conducted a case management inspection at this facility thru the Zoom application due to COVID-19. A request for a unique waiver, to temporarily provide care for infants ages 12 months and older and school age children up to 8 years old at this preschool, was received and approved on 4/6/21. LPM met with Cynthia Reimann. There were 28 children and 6 additional staff also present. LPM conducted a health and safety inspection of the classrooms to be used for the care of the infants and school age children. Ms. Reimann pointed the camera around the room and focused in on things as requested by LPM. LPM observed that there was sufficient lighting and age appropriate furniture, toys, activities and equipment in each classroom. LPM observed equipment for school age children to complete distance learning. The floors and surfaces appeared to be clean. LPM did not observe any hazardous items, bodies of water or medication accessible to children. The changing table in the infant classroom was near the sink. The bathrooms for the school age children have stalls to allow for privacy. The facility has a fully charged fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detector, centralized smoke detection system, telephone and first aid supplies. The outdoor play space is fully fenced and free of hazardous conditions. LPM observed that the outdoor toys and activities are age appropriate. There is sufficient cushioning underneath the play structures to absorb a fall. Ms. Reimann advised that families bring lunches from home, but the facility provides a morning and afternoon snack. LPM observed all of the required postings, including information regarding COVID-19 and the approved waiver.

Ms. Reimann was reminded to ensure that the facility maintains compliance with Title 22 regulations, Health and Safety Code and the conditions of the approved waiver at all times. There are no deficiencies being cited today. This report will remain on file for 3 years. An electronic signature will not be obtained due to the virtual inspection, but the report will be sent to Ms. Reimann for signature.
