On August 18, 2022, at 8:42AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Director Boris Alvarado for an unannounced annual inspection. The infant center was inspected to conduct a health and safety check. Present during the inspection were 13 infants and 6 finger print cleared staff members. The teacher/child ratio was being met today. This center operates Monday through Friday 8:15AM to 5:15PM. There is also a preschool component (facility #013423114) operating out of two classrooms on the right side of the building.

The day care operates out of two rooms on the left side of the building. The furniture, equipment and activities appear to be age appropriate for the children in care. The heating and lighting is adequate. The changing table is within arms reach of the sink. LPA did not observe cleaning supplies or toxic items accessible to children during todays inspection. The toys appear to be safe and well maintained. The kitchen is not accessible to children in care. The food preparation area and storage areas are clean and in sanitary condition. A menu is posted and is visible for review. Infant bottles are appropriately labeled. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Breakfast, Lunch and snacks are provided by the center. The center has a waiver to have all food prepared and delivered by the CAL Dining program. LPA observed a shaded area over the playground. All required documents are posted for public review. LPA observed a waiver for infant beds to be used in place of cribs. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months, the last fire drill was took place on June 6, 2022 and the last Earthquake drill took place on June 22, 2022. The center is equipped with a working phone, carbon monoxide detector, and a 4A80BC fire extinguisher. No IMS is being provided as of today. There is a staff member with a current CPR certification during all hours of the day care. The center has Liability insurance.

Director Alvarado was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.


There were no deficiencies cited during today's visit.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Alvarado.
