On 08/11/2021 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jabari Wilson conducted a 1 year required UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL INSPECTION. LPA met with Owner Sonal Jagad and the facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Owner informed LPA that the preschool is currently closed but the Summer Camp (ages 5-12) is in session. The summer camp operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM within the Safari Kids Heritage model. The summer camp started on June 14, 2021 and will end this Friday August 13, 2021. The Preschool program normally operates out of 2 classrooms. Both classrooms were inspected for age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and adequate storage for children’s belongings. LPA observed the cleanliness of floors and surfaces, the presence of working dual carbon monoxide/smoke detectors, fire alarms, and 2 fully charged 4A60BC fire extinguishers in both classrooms that is accessible. The bathrooms have age appropriate faucets and toilets in working condition. There is no yard for the children to play. Instead, there is a large play area inside the building which has room for structures and other equipment. There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water. Cleaning supplies/toxins are stored inaccessible to children. All required postings are present. The facility requires parents to provide children with their own food. LPA reviewed storage of medication and medical equipment/supplies and is inaccessible to the children. Per Owner, there are no firearms present on the premises.

A copy of the facility personnel roster was obtained. LPA reviewed the file of 7 children enrolled in the program and 3 staff members files, who are fingerprint cleared, completion of Mandated Reporter training as well as proof of immunizations. Each child's file reviewed is complete and contains a medical assessment. The opener and closer is Venkata Karuna; records indicate that she has a current CPR/First Aid certificate that expires 03/20/2023 respectfully, and proof of education and/or experience was also present. The center has been closed since March 2020. Documented fire and earthquake drill log shows that the last drill was conducted on 02/10/2020.
