On July 21, 2021 at approximately 9:30 AM Licensing Program Analyst Renee Reed met with Director Selina Akhter for an UNANNOUNCED 1 YEAR REQUIRED INSPECTION. Present during the inspection were 2 staff members and 14 children in care. Children and staff roster was available for review. This facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Hours of Operation is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM

STAFF AND CHILDREN'S FILES: A review of 5 children and 2 staff records was conducted. All required documentation for children were in the files. A review of staff records indicates that Mandated Reporter Training is expired and/or missing, all other requirements are met. All facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. No children on medications and IMS services are not being provided.
CLASSROOM: Furniture & Equipment was age and sized appropriate. The Heating and lighting is adequate. There is drinking water readily available. There is adequate storage for children's belongings. There is an ample supply of toys, activities, furniture, storage and equipment which are age appropriate, safe and in good condition. The changing table is clean and within arm’s reach of an operating sink.

BATHROOMS & TOILETING AREAS: The bathrooms were toured and all toilets flushed properly and all faucets are in working order. There is a separate staff bathroom. There is no standing water on any of the floors. There is separate paper towels and liquid soap dispensers available for children's use.

FOOD SERVICE AREAS: There are menus posted for parental review. In the kitchen area there are no cleaning supplies stored with food. The food preparation area is adequately equipped and free of hazards. The kitchen is not accessible to children in care.

INSPECTON OF OUT DOOR AREA: The playground is free of miscellaneous debris or hazards such as tree branches, cans, bottles and broken glass. There is drinking water readily available for children and a shaded area is provided for them also.

NAPPING EQUIPMENT: There are ample cots available for children's use. Bedding, and sheets are stored properly.



SIGN IN AND OUT SHEET: Inspection of Sign in and Out sheet was reviewed through Brightwheel application All children were signed in today.
and a copy was printed to a PDF for for LPA.

POSTING REQUIREMENTS: All documents are posted in a prominent, publicly accessible area. Disaster Drills are being practiced at least once every 6 months with the last one being conducted 5/6/2021. Daily Activities are posted and backyard waiver posted as well..

Krithika Venugopal can be qualified as a fully qualified teacher once LPA can review 2019 Diablo Valley College catalog. Director was encouraged to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates. At least one staff and director has current CPR and First Aid.
Director is reminded CPR & First Aid to be renewed every two years and Mandated Reporter to be renewed every two years.

The Director is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, frequent visitors, or adults at the facility, are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. Director was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter. All forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov.

Technical Violation for Mandated Reporter Training.

There are no deficiencies cited. A notice of site visit was given to the Director and required to be posted for 30 days. This report shall remain on file for 3 years. Exit interview conducted and appeal rights provided.
