On December 10, 2021 at approximately 09:30 AM LPA Breaux arrived unannounced for an 1 year required annual inspection for compliance to Health and Safety. The new CARE tool was used for the inspection. Present for the inspection was Blanca Neumann Lead Teacher/Site Supervisor, and 4 teachers and 17 children in care. The center currently operates from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

CLASSROOMS: The facility is a single-story building with a playground in the front, side and back. There are two classrooms (room 1 not in use) (Room 1 and Room 2). Rooms 2 in operation. The sign in/out process was reviewed and electronic application is in use the EZTrack system. Classrooms have trash cans with tight fitting cover for the disposal of solid waste. Heating and ventilation was acceptable. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There are adequate play and learning materials available. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The isolation area for sick children is in the director's office, away from other children in care. The center has a wired smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detectors, working telephone, pull down fire alarm system, and fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers.

OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: There's a play structure with a slide that has cushioning to absorb falls. There are trees that provides shade to children while at play. There is filter water to keep the children hydrated.

BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: The staff's bathroom is separate from the children's bathroom. All sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children can reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children.

FOOD SERVICE AREAS: There are weekly menus posted at the facility and the facility provides snacks for the children. The kitchen area has a refrigerator is clean and free of evidence of rodents. There are no pesticides and other similar toxic substances stored in cabinets that contains food. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.

There is IMS plan in place, medication is locked and is inaccessible to children in care. Children's records were reviewed: LPA requested and reviewed facility roster. All files selected were complete and up to date.

Staff files were reviewed. Opening and closing staff have current CPR and first aid training. All staff subjected to criminal review have been cleared and associated to the facility. All documents required to be posted were appropriately posted on the wall at the main entrance.

California Law requires Child Care Centers licensees to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care to child's parents and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone, fax, or electronic mail. Roster of the children must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drill every six months must be documented.

Site supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. No infants in this facility, Safe Sleep was not covered in depth but was discussed and booklet provided.
