25 | An unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst L. Dyer. LPA arrived at the facility at 10:00 a.m. The licensee was present with her husband, daughter (fingerprint cleared); and 3 infants. Facility is in compliance with licensed capacity and facility ratios. Phone number and e-mail address are current. Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. The day care area of the home was inspected. Areas licensed for child care: living room/dining room/playroom, hall, kitchen and bathroom. Off-limit areas will be made inaccessible to children by closed and/or locked doors; gates; and visual supervision. The home was clean and orderly, with adequate ventilation. There were safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment available to children at the time of this inspection. There were a variety of books and toys for children's use. There was a working smoke detector (tested); a fully charged 3-A:40-B:C fire extinguisher; a first aid kit, and a carbon monoxide detector. Stairs inside the home are gated. Fireplace was blocked. There are no hazardous materials, medicines, or cleaning solutions accessible to children during this inspection. Hazardous items are kept in a high cabinet in the kitchen, inaccessible to children. Licensee stated there were no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Back yard area is securely fenced. Licensee has a variety of toys in the outdoor shaded area.
Guidance for Child Care Providers and Programs (version June 29, 2021), New Safe Sleep Regulations, and Individual Sleeping Plans for Infants were provided and discussed with the licensee. There are currently no infants enrolled at the facility under 12 months of age.
LPA reviewed facility, personnel and children's records at 11:41 a.m. Mandated Reporter Training has been completed and expires 12/19/22. Licensees' CPR/First Aid expires 1/23/23. Adult immunizations are in file.
Individual Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. (continued) |
