25 | On 03/11/2024 at 8:45 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), A. Curry arrived at the home and conducted an unannounced required inspection. LPA met with licensees, Catherine & Tim Alderman, who granted inspection authority to tour the facility. Also present for the inspection were licensee’s fingerprint cleared daughter and 4 children in care consisting of 3 infants and 1 preschooler. Licensee states there are currently 4 children enrolled. Children’s files were reviewed.
The children use the bathroom in the hallway, living room, dining area, kitchen, and 2 areas in the backyard. The backyard is separated into 4 quadrants. The two left quadrants are currently being used for day care. During today's visit the licensee indicated she would like to add the front deck and top right quadrant to an on-limit area. LPA observed the front deck and top right quadrant area of the backyard. The backyard is properly fenced and there are no health or safety concerns during today's visit. The front deck and top right quadrant of the backyard will be an on-limit area effective today March 11, 2024. The licensee was reminded to have 100% supervision of children when on the front deck and backyard. The off-limits areas will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The isolation area is the the dining room. The LPA toured all areas used by children.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were no fireplaces or open face heaters accessible to children. There were safe toys, play equipment, and materials observed for children. There is a door at the bottom of the stairs. There is a working telephone in the home. All poisons, cleaning solutions, medications, and other items that pose a danger to children are inaccessible during this visit. The licensee does understand that poison must be in a locked cabinet/drawer or placed out of reach of children. The home is equipped with a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke alarm, and working carbon monoxide detector. Licensee stated there are no firearms on the premises. There are no pools, spas, hot tubs, fishponds or similar bodies of water. Licensee has current CPR and First Aid training which expires on November 22, 2024. |
