Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the owner NandaKumar Ramadhass. There are currently no children present in the preschool program. The licensee also holds a Heritage license and currently has 2 children enrolled in the Heritage program. The Heritage program uses a separate room that is not licensed by Community Care Licensing (CCL).The licensee wants to maintain the school age license at this time. The licensee understands that the children enrolled in the Heritage program are not to be commingled with children enrolled in child care licensed by CCL. The center runs preschool license Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and a Heritage school runs Monday to Friday from 2:30pm to 6:30 pm.
LPA inspected the center for health and safety hazards. The furniture and equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible during the visit. The toilets and sinks were in operable condition. The floors were free of tripping hazards. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are in good repair. Menus are posted and visible for parents to review. There are no pools or similar bodies of water at this facility. The isolation area will be the office area if needed. There is adequate storage for children's belongings. The heating and lighting is adequate. There is drinking water readily available to children. There is a separate bathroom for boys and girls. The bathrooms appear to be safe, sanitary, and free of any hazardous items. Per director, there are no firearms on the premises of the child care center. The food preparation area is clean. Children bring their own meals and center provides snacks. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid Kit, working telephone, carbon monoxide detector, pull down fire alarm and (2) 3A40BC fire extinguishers. The directors CPR/First Aid certificate expired 06/2023. All staff has taken Mandated Reporter training.
The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained.

During inspection,

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility does not provide IMS (Incidental Medical Services) to children currently. If any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
