25 | On July 21, 2021 at 1:05 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with Director, Delaram Mashaw. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Director. There were 59 Preschoolers present during this inspection and six additional staff present. This is a combination center, with a preschool component with toddler option and a school age component. The preschool component operates out of 6 classrooms, with 5 of the classrooms being used for instruction, activities and play, and 1 classroom being used during meals and snacks. The center operates Monday thru Friday 7AM- 6PM.
CLASSROOMS: The preschool component operates in six classrooms. There are adequate play and learning materials available. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The isolation area for sick children is in the office.
There are two fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers throughout the center, a functioning carbon monoxide detector, smoke and sprinkler system, and first aid supplies. There is napping equipment available for children, and it is stored appropriately. All solid waste storage containers have tight fitting covers on, and appear to be in good repair.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: There are separate bathrooms for staff and children. Toilets and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children are able to reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: The menus are posted at least one week in advance, available for review and dated. LPA observed the kitchen/food preparation and storage areas to be clean and free of evidence of rodents. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.
