25 | On 03/03/2020 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton made an unannounced annual inspection at the above facility. LPA was met by director Hazelle Fortich. Present for the inspection was 5 infants and 14 toddlers with 5 teachers. The entire facility was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection.
The facility operates in 4 rooms: Boo’s Room (4-12 months), Jack Jack’s Room (4-12 months), Sally’s Room (12-18 months) and Nemo’s Room (18-24 months). Each classroom was inspected. Crib areas were found in appropriate safe sleep environment. LPA reviewed daily plans for infants which were found to be completed as the day is proceeding. Bottles were observed labeled and stored properly. The facility provides a morning and an afternoon snack for the toddlers. LPA inspected the food for quantity and freshness and found it in compliance. Age appropriate toys were available in each classroom. Each child has individual storage space. Sign in/out was reviewed for accuracy of children present and found in compliance. At 12:55-1:15PM, LPA observed 4 fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers. At 1:25PM, a carbon monoxide detector was tested and found operable. Each classroom has a smoke detector in each room. The detectors were tested and found operable. Napping equipment was found stored properly to prevent cross-contamination. Furniture was observed free of defects or sharp edges. The fenced outdoor play area was inspected. The area has a sandbox, toys, and other activities available for children. There is resilient material that provides cushioning to absorb a fall. Water is available by water bottles, and the facility provides water as needed. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on this visit. Facility has been conducting fire drills with the last one being 01/13/2020. CPR and first aid is current for staff on site, expiring 06/15/2021. Children and staff files were reviewed and found in compliance. Facility is reminded to ensure they are completing the needs and services plan quarterly for infants.
Individual Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Currently, there aren’t any kids in care requiring the administration of
