25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Janani Krishnakumaar for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. Present during this inspection were the licensee and helper supervising six preschoolers. The licensee lives in the house with her husband, and two minor children.The two-story home has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room, a family room, a kitchen, a dining room, a converted garage, and a backyard. The hours of operation are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday -Friday.
ON-LIMIT AREAS converted garage, the living room, and the bathroom located in the hallway.
OFF-LIMIT AREAS are the entire second floor, the bedroom on the first floor, the family room, the dining room, and the kitchen. All off-limits areas are made inaccessible to children by locked doors, safety gates, and visual supervision.
The daycare area was observed to be clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for children, doors and outdoors. The home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. There are no bodies of water or fireplaces in the day-care area. Child size tables and chairs are provided for snacks and activities. No hazardous materials or toxins were found accessible to children during the inspection. The napping room had cots in good condition and each child has their separate blankets, which are washed weekly by the parents. The outdoor play area is fenced and equipped with a play structure. Swing set which is bolted and sturdy. The licensee confirmed there are no guns or weapons in the home. Electrical outlets have child protective covers in place, making them inaccessible to children. Licensee is reminded of NO walker, exersaucers, jumpers, bouncers and any similar items to be used for children in care and shall be made inaccessible. There are no infants enrolled. LPA discussed safe sleep regulations.
The licensee's CPR expires in 1/2025. Licensee and helper have Mandated reporter training on file. The last fire drill was conducted on 3/24. The licensee provides daily snacks and meals. The discipline policy is redirection. LPA reviewed the children's files. All the files are complete and up to date, and all required postings are correctly posted.
