25 | LPA L. Dyer met with licensee for an unannounced Increase In Capacity inspection. The licensee was present with 3 children (2 preschoolers and 1 school-age) . LPA toured the facility for a health and safety inspection. The home was equipped with a first aid kit, a fully charged 3-A:40-B:C fire extinguisher, a working smoke detector (tested), and a carbon monoxide detector. Fire safety inspection by the Oakland Fire Department was approved on 4/26/19 with Code 1 - Fire Clearance Granted. Per the fire marshal's instructions, licensee has installed a fire pull alarm system. Licensee had files reviewed at the last inspection, and declined to review forms. There was a working telephone. The licensee stated there were no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. There were a variety of books and toys for children's use. Pets consist of 2 dogs. Children have not played outside recently due to rainy weather.
Licensee stated that her husband and herself were the only adults living in the home. All staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee's fees are current. Pediatric First aid and CPR cards expire 7/16/19. Licensee's immunization records have been reviewed. All licensing-required documents are posted. The ratio poster was given to the licensee. The handout, "A Child Care Provider's Guide to Safe Sleep" was provided and discussed at the last inspection. The top 6 citations for Family Day Care was discussed with the licensee.
