1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 3/4/22, at 12:29pm Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Catherine Fernandes and Indira Loza met with Director/Owner Lori Miller-Smith for an unannounced required inspection. The center and playground were inspected to conduct a health and safety check. Present during the inspection were three infants and two additional finger print cleared staff members. The teacher/child ratio was being met today. This center operates Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 5:30PM. The day care operates out of two classrooms on right side of the hallway. The room floors, surfaces, furniture and equipment appear to be safe, sanitary and in good repair. The furniture, equipment and activities appear to be age appropriate for the children in care. The heating and lighting is adequate. LPA Fernandes and Loza observed bottled waters available for the children. The changing table is within arms reach of the sink. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water, free standing water, cleaning supplies, or toxic items accessible to children during todays inspection. The center provides two snacks to the children while in care and lunches are brought from home. The outside play area is located through the preschool classroom, which is fenced in and separate from the preschoolers. LPAs observed a shaded areas and age appropriate toys, that appear to in good repair. All required documents are posted for public review. Due to COVID all sign in and outs are being done electronically. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months, the last drill was recorded on 2/14/22. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit, working telephone, carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway near one of the exits, a pull down fire alarm near the front door, a 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the hallway. The fire system is hardwired. The center roster was reviewed and a copy was obtained. A review of five children records and four staff files were reviewed. Mandated reporter training is current for all staff. All staff have been fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. At least one opening/closing staff member has a current CPR/First Aid certificate. Report continued on 809C

Director Lori was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

No citations were given during todays inspections.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Miller.
