25 | On 08/10/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required health and safety inspection. LPA was met by lead teacher Sireena Licea, who is in charge while the director is out. Present for the inspection was 0 children, the infant component of the program is closed today. LPA toured the facility with Sireena.
Per Sireena there are no firearms in the facility. The classroom has age appropriate toys and furnishings. Cleaning supplies and hazards were observed inaccessible to children. No children are on medication in the classroom at the moment, however the facility has a first aid kit available. The changing table in the classroom has ample supplies and is centrally located. The classroom has a refrigerator to store infant bottles. LPA observed a waste bin with a tight fitting lid. Cushion is throughout the classroom to absorb a fall.
Sign in and sign out sheet was reviewed, due to COVID-19 facility is using a digital platform with assessment questions that parents answer before bringing children to the facility.
Outdoor play area and equipment was inspected and found safe for use of children. No sharp edges were observed. Drinking water is available for children, along with a shaded area.
LPA reviewed children files which were found complete. CPR and first aid is current for staff on site, expiring 06/15/2022.
Facility is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, frequent visitors, or adults that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident.
No deficiencies cited at this visit.
Exit interview conducted, appeal rights provided, and a copy of this report was left with the facility.
A notice of site visit was given and facility was reminded that it must remain posted for 30 days. |
