25 | A Prelicensing Visit was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay. LPAs met with applicant, Malyka Chop. The applicant submitted an application for an infant license. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The center has also applied for a a decrease in capacity for the preschool/toddler component. The infant program will operate in 1 classroom area in the portable, Monday to Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm. The measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 477.52 = 13 children
OUTDOORS: 1,093.38 = 14 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 12 infants, ages birth to 24 months was received from Alameda City Fire Department on 01/11/22.
Infant classroom is equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. There will be no crib-aged infants. There are 3 bassinets available. The diaper changing areas are within arms reach of a sink. There are 5 sinks, 4 toilets, and 2 potty-training toilets available. The office will be used as an isolation area for ill children. There are two play yards that will serve as the infant outdoor areas. The yards are fenced in all around. There is sufficient cushioning in the infant outdoor play areas. Infant families will provide food for infants. Facility will utilize paper sign in/out.
The facility has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. |
