An unannounced Annual/Random inspection was conducted by LPA Dyer. The licensees were present with 3 day care children (infants). Licensees were in compliance with the licensed capacity and facility ratios. Phone number is current. Hours: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm. The day care area of the home was inspected. Areas licensed for child care: living room/dining room and the bathroom. Licensees have also requested the backyard be licensed at this inspection. The backyard was inspected and is safe for child play. This request is granted. A facility sketch has been received.
Off-limit areas will be made inaccessible to children by closed and/or locked doors; door knob covers; gates and visual supervision. All required forms are posted and visible for public review. There was a working smoke detector (tested); a fully charged 2-A:10-B:C fire extinguisher; a first aid kit, and a carbon monoxide detector. The home was clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation. There were safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment available to children at the time of this inspection. There were a variety of books and toys for children's use. Fireplace was blocked. There are no hazardous materials, medicines, or cleaning solutions accessible to children during this inspection. Hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Licensees stated there were no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. No pets.

Back yard area is securely fenced. Licensees have faux grass in the center, and a concrete area around the perimeter where children can ride bikes and other riding toys. There is a shaded area, a slide, balls and other toys for child play. The area is safe for children and is approved today.

Last disaster drill date logged: 4/18/19. A sample of files for children present today (2) were reviewed. All have emergency information in file. Facility roster was obtained.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm.

All staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee's Pediatric First aid/CPR cards expire 8/19/18 and 6/2/20.

Licensees were aware of the New Regulations regarding Adult Immunizations and Mandated Reporter Training. Immunization records are in file. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training expires 5/29/20 and 6/3/20.

Licensees were also reminded of the Department's Inspection authority, and the need to comply when notified that termination of an employee is necessary. The handout, "A Child Care Provider's Guide to Safe Sleep" was provided and discussed. Also discussed with the licensees: children in parked vehicles; substitutes; fingerprinting/association; advertisements; changes in on-limit areas; large family child care home; and smoking. Licensees were encouraged to frequently visit the licensing website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations, forms and updates; and was shown how to access the website via the internet.
