DUE TO THE COVID-19, THIS PRE-LICENSING INSPECTION WAS DONE THROUGH TELE-VISIT VIA FACETIME.

A Prelicensing Visit was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with Director Alivia Duffus with applicant, Claudia Barrenechea on site during visit. The applicant has submitted an application for change of ownership for Infant with Toddler-Option with one other component (Preschool). The center will operate Monday-Friday from 7am to 6pm in two classrooms (Room 1 and Room 2).

A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside and the measurements are as follows:

INDOORS: 1239.06 square feet = 35 children
OUTDOORS: 3468.04 square feet = 46 children

The center has obtained an approved fire clearance from Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department on 3/5/2020. The fire clearance is approved with a capacity of 38 preschoolers, 16 infants with 18 Toddler-Option children for a total of 72 for the entire center. The classrooms are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. The infant program will serve crib-age infants. There is a separate crib area with up to 8 cribs for infants. The diaper changing counter is within arms reach of a sink. There are 3 sinks and 4 potty chairs for children that are toilet training. The office and staff restroom will serve as isolation area for ill children. The yard is fenced in all around and play equipment have sufficient cushioning. The infant program will be sharing the back play yard with the preschool program. Trees provide shade to the children. Pitcher and cups along with cups brought from home provide the children with clean drinking water.

Alivia Duffus is a fully-qualified director and has completed 16 hours of health and safety training including pediatric CPR and First Aid. There is a working telephone on site. There is Carbon Monoxide detector available and there are fire extinguishers all throughout the center.

Snacks are provided to older infants. This facility plans to provide Individual Medical Services – IMS. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.html. Alivia Duffus is a fully-qualified director and has completed 16 hours of health and safety training including pediatric CPR and First Aid. There is a working telephone on site. There is Carbon Monoxide detector available and there are fire extinguishers all throughout the center. First aid supplies are available in the center. Zero Tolerance policies were explained. The center was found to be clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair.

A license for a total of 34 children (16 infants with 18 Toddler-Option) will be effective today, August, 10, 2020.
