On 1/14/22 at 9:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Emilia Grisak conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with Acting Director Heather Miller. It was alleged that staff do not prevent children from hitting other children, specifically that child C6 hits other children.
The director was interviewed on 12/14/21 and stated that she can’t think of a time C6 hit another child. The director stated that aggressive behavior is not allowed, and staff will redirect or call parents when it occurs. Interviews were conducted with two children (C1-C2), two staff (S1-S2), seven parents (P1-P7) and four witnesses (W1-W4) on 12/13/21, 12/14/21, 12/30/21, 1/3/22, 1/4/22 and 1/5/22 regarding this allegation. It was stated by two out of two children that they have not been hit. It was stated during one child interview that a friend has been hit. It was stated by seven out of seven parents that their children have not been hit. It was stated by two out of two staff that C6 has not been observed hitting. It was stated in three out of four witness interviews that C6 has been observed to hit but it was stated during a witness interview that C6’s behavior has improved. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
