25 | An unannounced annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Sandy Husband. A review of staff records on 12/16/19 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are currently 4 adults living in the home.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. Both co-licensees were supervising 10 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are all three bedrooms and the garage were made inaccessible by locks. The home is comfortable. There are areas of the bathroom, kitchen, and hallways that have debris and visible dirt present along with bathroom and kitchen counters. There is a large amount of debris and dirt on the floors, baseboards, and a trash can full of soiled diapers and clothing strewn next to the toilet in the bathroom that the children use. There are safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee has current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire on 3/10/20. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) are stored out of the reach of children. Poisons are locked in the garage. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and charged fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. An emergency drill was conducted within the past 6 months on 9/22/19.
