25 | On 5/9/2023 at 1:15pm, a Required 1-Year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Laura Chavez and Julie Gifford. This program is operated by Head Start and a Title 5 funded program. The facility operates during the migrant season, 5:00am - 5:00pm, Monday–Friday. The toddler program located in Room 2 and preschool located in Room 3 were toured at 1:35pm inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. The Director was supervising three toddlers and two teachers were supervising 8 preschool age children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The outdoor activity space was cushioned with wood chips and free of hazards.
The Center Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the Center Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at:https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/ safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Center Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
