On November 3, 2022 at 3:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) J. Helton conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with Assistant Director Ashely Karr. It was alleged that staff are co-mingling day care children on the playground, staff are yelling at children and the playground equipment is not age appropriate.

The Director and Assistant Director were interviewed during the initial visit. Both denied the allegations and stated that there is no co-mingling of children on the playground. The infant playground is sectioned off from the preschool and school age children. Both stated there is no yelling at the children, and that the playground equipment is age appropriate.

Between the dates of November 30, 2022 and December 6, 2022, LPA interviewed 9 client/parents (P1-P9) P1, P3-P9 had no issues with co-mingling. P2s concern was very specific to her child, not the facility as a whole. P1 and P2 had some concern of yelling teachers based on what their children had said. P3-P9 had no concerns of yelling. P1-P9 have no concerns with playground equipment.

On January 4, 2023, LPA interviewed 2 Preschool Teachers (S1 -S2). Both staff explained that there is no co-mingling, however, many school age children have younger siblings enrolled. If they are ever outside together, usually only at very end or beginning of the day, there are both preschool and school age teachers supervising. Both staff explained the age groups allowed on the play equipment and the supervision during outdoor play. Both staff deny staff yelling at children.

On January 18, 2023, LPA attempted to interview 3 children (C1-C3). None of the children disclosed yelling from their teachers.

During the visit the facility was toured, copies of child roster and staff records were received and reviewed. LPA observed the all classrooms and playground and did not observe any yelling or co-mingling of children. Photos were taken of play equipment and structures were researched for age requirements. All play structures are age appropriate.

Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Katie Love.
