25 | On 9/9/22 at 1:30pm, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Emilia Grisak. This program is operated by E Center Head Start and operates on the campus at Prospect High School. Operating hours are 8am to 3:30pm, Monday–Friday and facility follows the school calendar and does not operate during the summer. The facility was toured at 1:35pm inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. LPA observed there were two toddlers being supervised by one teacher and two infants being supervised by one teacher and one aide, and facility is operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The outdoor activity space was cushioned with wood chips and free of hazards.
Center Education Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Three staff records were reviewed at 1:55pm. Four child records were reviewed at 2:05pm.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Center Education Supervisor and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Center Education Supervisor of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
