25 | An annual random inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst, Laura Chavez. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. A review of personnel records on file indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This program is operated by a public agency and a Title 5 funded program. The inspection was made in conjunction with the preschool component. The facility operates year round, Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met and there were 7 infants supervised by four teachers. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents and cleaning compounds) were inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in the janitorial closet. Medications are inaccessible to children. The toys, floors, and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe for infants and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors. The changing tables are at least have a padded surface no less than one inch thick and is covered with washable plastic. There was sufficient napping equipment (cribs and mats) available that meet requirements. Current menus are posted on bulletin boards located at the entry of the facility. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The infant playground is free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas appeared in safe condition. No bodies of water were observed. At least one staff member present possessed current CPR/First Aid certifications.
