25 | An inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. A review of personnel records on file indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This program is operated by a public agency, and a Title 5 funded program. The inspection was made in conjunction with the Preschool component. The facility operates year round, Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm. The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. Infant and toddlers each have separate classrooms and outdoor play yards. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, medications and cleaning compounds) were inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in a janitorial closet. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe for infants and in good condition. Water fountains provide uncontaminated drinking water to children both indoors and outdoors. There were 4 infants supervised by 4 teachers and 8 toddlers supervised by 2 teachers. The changing tables have a padded surface no less than one inch thick and is covered with washable plastic. There was sufficient napping equipment (cribs and mats) available that meet requirements. Current menus are posted on bulletin boards. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and refrigerated as needed. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The infant and toddler playground are free of hazards. The playground equipment and surface areas appeared in safe conditions. No bodies of water were observed. At least one staff member present possessed current CPR/First Aid certifications.
