25 | On 6/9/2023 at 11:30am, a Required 1-Year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Laura Chavez and Julie Gifford. This program is operated by Head Start. The facility operates during the migrant season, 5:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday. The infant classroom located in Room #1 and Toddler classroom located in Room #2 were toured at 10:15am inside and outside and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. Two teachers were supervising seven toddlers and two teachers and one aide were supervising five infants, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The toddler outdoor activity space was cushioned with wood chips, and the infant outdoor space was cushioned with artificial turf and free of hazards. Five children's records were reviewed at 10:34pm. Five staff records were reviewed at 1:30pm.
Center Director Andrea Navarro was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Center Director Andrea Navarro and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at:https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the center director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
