25 | On 9/2/20 at 2:15pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loretta Dyson conducted a case management tele-inspection for this center. The inspection was conducted thru the FaceTime application due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LPA met with the director, Tracie Nelson, and there was no one else present. The center submitted an application to add a classroom labeled as the 'front classroom' to the license. The center is operating on the site of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and the hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 9am-2pm. A tour of the new classroom was completed to conduct a health and safety inspection. The inspection was conducted by LPA directing Ms. Nelson to focus the camera around the classroom. Ms. Nelson provided the measurements for the classroom, and this was combined with the previous measurements of the other classrooms and outdoor space. The the total measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 2395.21 square feet= 68 children
OUTDOORS: 5436.29 square feet= 72 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 41, was received from the Moraga-Orinda Fire Department.
LPA observed that the classroom has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The classroom has a bathroom with a sink and a toilet. The classroom has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.
All requirements have been met and the center is approved to begin using the front classroom effective today 9/2/20. This report will remain on file for 3 years. There are no deficiencies being cited. An electronic signature will not be obtained from the licensee, but the report will be mailed to the licensee for signature. |
