25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Petersen conducted an unannounced random annual site inspection for this facility at 1215. LPA met with director, Lawanda Betts, and toured all areas of the facility licensed for use by preschool age children. Also present at the time of LPA's inspection were 26 napping preschool age children and two teaching staff. Two additional teaching staff were on break at the time of inspection. Two of the teaching staff were qualified teachers and two were aides. The facility was within ratio and capacity. All adults present are background cleared.
This program is the preschool component of a combination center and operates out of three rooms. All rooms were inspected for health and safety. Furnishings are age appropriate and in good repair. Floors, counters and surfaces are free of hazardous conditions. There were no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible. Toilets and faucets are age appropriate and in working condition. Per facility director, there are no firearms stored or present on the premises. First aid supplies were inventoried.
This facility serves breakfast, lunch and snacks. There are menus posted. There is indoor and outdoor drinking water available for children in care via working drinking fountains, water jug with cups and individual sippy cups. Food prep and storage areas were inspected and are clean and appear free of pests. There is a working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector and fully charged fire extinguisher present. The most recent fire department inspection was within the past six months.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services-IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative records.
