Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Petersen conducted an unannounced annual required visit for this facility at 0840. LPA met with licensee, Dolores Maravilla, and toured all areas utilized by children in care for a health and safety inspection. Also present at the time of LPA's inspection were assistant, Mariana Tornero, and nine children in care consisting of two infants and seven preschool age children. The facility is within ratio and capacity. The on limits areas for children are the front living room area and adjoining children's play area, the back children's classroom/play area, the back bathroom and the bedroom at the back of the house. All other areas of the house including the entire downstairs are off limits for children in care. The stairs to the downstairs are in an off limits area and have a closed door at the top of the stairs. All off limits areas are made inaccessible by closed doors or child safety gating and visual supervision. Per licensee there are no firearms on the premises. Hazardous items/toxins are stored inaccessible to children in care. Toys, furnishings and equipment are in good repair and free of hazardous conditions. All required postings are present. There is a working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector and fully charged fire extinguisher. The home is clean and organized with heating and ventilation for adequate temperature management. The back patio/play area is fully fenced and available to children in care with adult supervision. There is a gate at the top of the patio stairs. There are no pools or other accessible bodies of water present. LPA reviewed the facility, staff and children's records including parent's rights forms, emergency ID forms and staff background clearance. The facility has an up to date roster. Licensee and assistant are currently enrolled in CPR/ First Aid certification class for 05/18/19. For licensing forms and updates visit www.ccld.ca.gov.
