A Case Management Visit was conducted on this date 4/12/23 by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melissa Domantay. LPA met with Director Chris Cheng. There were no children present during inspection. The center has submitted an application for a capacity increase under school-age license. Hours of operation are from 7:00am-6:30pm, Monday through Friday. Facility operates on the grounds of Lafayette Elementary School. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. All measurements remain the same from last inspection. Facility is adding Classroom 31 and Classroom 32 to the school-age license.

A fire clearance was received from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department on 3/31/2023, dated 2/14/2023, for 110 school age children, ages 4.5 years to 18 years for a total capacity 110.

School-age program will operate in 4 classrooms, Nasa Classroom, Moma Classroom, Classroom 31, and Classroom 32. Playground equipment is in good condition. School-age program utilizes Lafayette Elementary School playground. LPA observed the outdoor play areas, which is fully fenced. LPA observed play structures which can be utilized by children. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play areas. LPA observed ample amount of shade for children. Facility will provide water for children, with water still accessible to children inside and outside. All toilets and hand-washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. Menus are posted. Facility provides snacks for children. Facility utilizes manual sign in/out.

The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit, working telephone, and 3A40BC fire extinguishers inside classrooms. The fire system is hardwired. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector.
Isolation area for sick children will be the outdoor deck or Classroom #32 when not in use.

Director Chris Cheng was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A license for 110 school-age children is effective today, 4/12/23 with a total capacity of 110 and is ready to be used when facility is ready. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days
